Clover Time Crafting Guide: How to Craft Items, Recipes and Material Sources

How crafting works in Clover Time: the Haga village crafting bench, furnace and blacksmith, the verified Mana Crystal recipe (5 potatoes + 10 crystal mana fragments), and where each recipe material comes from.

Crafting in Clover Time happens at a crafting table in Haga village, standing to the right of the set-spawn crystal near the church. Walk up to it, open the bench menu, pick a category such as Materials, choose your recipe and start the craft — it completes on a timer. The menu shows each recipe's ingredients before you commit anything, so you always know what to gather first.

The one recipe documented end to end by gameplay footage is the Mana Crystal: 5 potatoes + 10 crystal mana fragments, finished in about 20 seconds. That crystal is what lets you spin for grimoires at the tower, which makes it the craft most players want first. This guide covers that full materials-to-item route, the other verified stations, and where every recipe material comes from.

How crafting works

Clover Time crafting is menu-based. At the bench you select a category, pick a recipe, and start it; the craft then runs on a timer, and every craft has a different time — the Mana Crystal took about 20 seconds in a filmed run. Because the recipe screen lists its own ingredients, you can read the requirements before spending materials.

The bench menu seen by multiple testers covers these categories:

  • Weapons — a sword (with a stone sword variant), a shotgun, and a rifle
  • Tools and gear — a fishing rod and glow lights
  • Armor — the iron helmet armor, described as "heavy iron plate"
  • Consumables — stamina potion, luck potion, and a fishing bait potion
  • Materials — rare, legendary, and mythical materials, including the Mana Crystal itself
  • Recycling — quest resources such as collector batons can be crafted into other things, so quest pickups are not dead inventory

Availability expands as you progress: one early tester found the armor slot with "nothing to craft yet," while later footage shows the iron helmet armor craftable, and potion recipes unlock with player level.

Where to craft: the bench, furnace, and blacksmith

The main crafting table sits in Haga village, to the right of the set-spawn crystal — the glowing crystal that marks each map's safe zone and respawn point. One starter guide sums up its role plainly: "you can literally craft anything in the game if you have the right materials."

Two further stations are confirmed:

  • Furnace — stands next to the church. There you start smelting ores, choose the fuel, and receive the final product. Named furnace outputs are refined sulfur, metal bars, stone bricks, and coal.
  • Blacksmith — crafts two chest-raid helpers: one item that lets you skip the chest puzzle, and another that forces the chest's giant boss to appear. If you have anti-magic, you can skip the puzzle without crafting that item simply by attacking the chest.

The verified Mana Crystal recipe

This is the complete route from raw materials to a finished item, confirmed by two independent videos (one films the craft finishing):

  1. Collect 5 potatoes. Harvest field plots with the rake from Sister Lily's first quest (press E to harvest), or kill the Haj Bandits around Haga village — each kill drops two potatoes.
  2. Collect 10 crystal mana fragments. Fish for the Golden Marlin (bring a fishing rod and uncommon bait; luck and easier-fishing potions help), open medium and large chests, or pick up map spawns. Codes can also grant crystals — see the Clover Time codes page.
  3. Go to the crafting table in Haga village and open the Materials tab.
  4. Select Mana Crystal and start the craft. It finishes in roughly 20 seconds.
  5. Take the crystal to the grimoire tower to spin — it is "a shard of pure mana" used for grimoire rolls. If you're not sure where the tower is, follow the grimoire tower location guide.

Transcripts variously call this item mana crystal, mono crystal, or crystal mana — they refer to the same grimoire-spin item. One other cost is documented: the bench menu shows the sword can be upgraded for 55 wood, and the same menu lists silver ore plus consumable and clothing entries. Quantities for the other crafts (weapons, armor, potions) aren't publicly documented — the bench menu itself shows them in-game. For more on the crystal and its uses, see the Clover Time mana crystals page.

Where recipe materials come from

Every material with a verified source for the recipes above:

MaterialHow to get it
PotatoesHarvest field plots with the quest rake (press E), or kill Haj Bandits — two per kill
Crystal mana fragmentsGolden Marlin fishing, medium/large chests (a chest opened on camera contained fragments), and map spawns
WoodChop trees with an axe — trees have HP bars and several logs drop per tree (the firewood quest asks for five)
Sulfur, stone, and metal oreMine with a pickaxe (the mining quest asks for five); Demon Skull bandits also drop stone ore
Raw meatHunt pigs
Wolf fangs and mana wolf fangsMenu → Profile → Quest/NPC, select the manowolf quest, then defeat the wolves at the marked location
Caravan materialsSelect the caravan raid quest the same way and defeat the enemies at the marked location

If you need the axe or pickaxe first, the how to get tools guide covers both, and the gathering page explains the farming loop. This page only covers materials in recipe context — the full list lives on the Clover Time materials page.

What to craft first

The evidence points to one clear early priority: mana crystals, because each one is a grimoire spin at the tower. Fishing the Golden Marlin is the named way to stock up on fragments — see the fishing guide — and chests are the other common source. A written grimoire guide gives the same ordering: keep fragments and recipe ingredients instead of selling everything you collect, craft crystals to roll, and bank wood and ore for gear crafts such as the sword's 55-wood upgrade.

A few progression notes that change what you can craft:

  • Potion recipes unlock with level — a level-13 tester still had Stamina Potion level 2 locked and crafted level 1 instead.
  • Empty bench tabs fill in as you progress, so recheck the armor and other slots as you level.
  • Quest resources like collector batons can be recycled into other crafts rather than left in your inventory.

All of this was filmed while Clover Time was still in early development, with the public release planned for early October, so recipes, quantities, and unlocked tabs can shift after crafting or economy updates — check the bench menu in-game and the updates page when in doubt.

Once your Mana Crystal finishes, the next task is spending it: head to the grimoire tower and roll for your grimoire.
